This is not your bra size! Pull tape across the fullest part of the bust.
Find the natural waist. This is the smallest part of the waist. Keep tape slightly loose to allow for breathing room.
Find the widest part of the hips. Tape should brush across both hipbones.
From the edge of the shoulder socket, measure across the back to the same point on the other shoulder.
Stand straight. Begin at the hollow space between the collarbones and pull tape straight down to the floor.
Stand straight with feet together. Measure in bare feet. Begin at the top of the head and pull tape straight down to the floor.
A simple guide to help you measure accurately for your bespoke veil.
Decide where your veil will sit – at the crown, back of the head, or beneath a bun.
Using a soft tape measure, start at your chosen point and measure down your back to where you would like the veil to finish.
Record your length in centimetres. For a softer drape, you may wish to add 2–5 cm.
Shoulder – 50 cm
Elbow – 63 cm
Fingertip – 91 cm
Waltz – 137 cm
Chapel – 229 cm
Cathedral – 274–305 cm
